What are the Hazards of Air in the Refrigeration System of Industrial Chillers?

After the industrial chiller has been in operation for a long time, due to the corrosion of metal materials, the decomposition of lubricating oil and refrigerant, and the intrusion of air during operation, there is a certain amount of air in the refrigeration system. The user needs to remove the air in the refrigeration system. Exclusion, if the air is not excluded, it may bring a lot of harm, what kind of harm will it cause?

Air is a non-condensable gas in the refrigeration system, so it has no way to liquefy with the system. When the air enters the condenser, it will cause the condensation pressure of the condenser to increase, and even change back to cause the heat transfer performance of the system to deteriorate. Worth the reduced cooling capacity. In addition, the air in the refrigeration system will also oxidize and deteriorate the lubricating oil.

The hazards of air in the refrigeration system can be summarized into the following four aspects:

  1. It directly leads to the increase of the condensation pressure. There is air in the condenser, and the air will generate pressure after occupying a certain volume, and the refrigerant itself in the condenser will also generate pressure. Once there is more and more air in the condenser, the pressure will also increase, resulting in an increase in the total pressure of the condenser.
  2. Because of the existence of air, the gas layer on the heat transfer surface of the condenser is thickened, which increases the thermal resistance and reduces the heat transfer efficiency of the condenser. Because the air enters the refrigeration system, the water content in the system increases , Water will also corrode pipes and fittings, affecting the cooling effect.
  3. If there is air in the refrigeration system, it will directly lead to an increase in the condensing pressure, which will further lead to a decrease in the cooling capacity. Because the cooling capacity decreases, in order to achieve the cooling effect, the power consumption of the entire unit will increase.
  4. After a certain amount of air exists in the refrigeration system, when the exhaust temperature is relatively high, accidents are very likely to occur once oil vapor is encountered.

If the user finds that air has entered the refrigeration system during the use of the industrial chiller, it should be shut down in time to remove the air. Especially the refrigeration system using freon, because there is no device to release air, more attention should be paid to regularly removing the air in the refrigeration system to reduce the harm caused by the air to the unit.
