Causes of Hydraulic Shock Failure of Low Temperature Chiller Compressor
As a classification of industrial chillers, low-temperature chillers are widely used in industrial applications. During the operation of the low-temperature chiller, various problems often lead to compressor burnout and liquid shock. Today we will talk to you about the hydraulic shock failure of the compressor of the low-temperature chiller.
The reasons for the hydraulic shock failure of the compressor of the low-temperature chiller:
- A lot of refrigerant liquid enters the compressor at the moment of starting up;
- The flow rate of the evaporator is not good (the energy saving load is reduced), and the compressor has liquid return phenomenon;
- The defrosting of the heat pump of the unit is not good. A lot of liquid refrigerant enters the compressor without evaporating, or the liquid in the evaporator enters the compressor when the four-way valve changes direction.
Treatment plan for hydraulic shock failure of low-temperature chiller compressor:
- Before starting up, preheating the oil cavity of the chiller compressor for a long enough time can effectively prevent a lot of refrigerant from accumulating in the lubricating oil. It also has a certain effect on preventing liquid hammer.
- The pipeline design should prevent liquid refrigerant from entering the compressor when starting up, especially for refrigeration systems with a relatively large charge. Adding an accumulator to the compressor suction is a useful way to deal with this problem, especially in heat pump units where reverse cycle hot gas defrosting is selected.
- The flow protection of the water system is insufficient, so that when the water flow is not enough, it can protect the compressor and prevent the unit from returning liquid or freezing.
