How to do the Antifreeze Protection of the Chiller?
- When the new equipment is used for the first time, carefully observe whether the water outlet and return pipes are frozen. If there is ice or near ice, warm water should be added to the water tank, or antifreeze should be added to the water tank to prevent the water from freezing.
- When the unit is not in use for a long time, the drain valve should be opened to drain the water in the water tank. At the same time, the drain nut under the water pump should be unscrewed to drain the remaining water in the water pump to prevent the water system from being caused by low temperature. Icing, shell-and-tube and fin-type evaporators burst and cause refrigerant leakage or damage to the pump impeller.
- Before the new equipment is transported, the water must be completely drained to ensure that there is no residual water in the water pump and water tank system pipeline to prevent the water system pipeline from expanding and breaking due to low temperature freezing during transportation.
- In order to prolong the service life of the equipment and ensure the cooling effect, please clean the shell-and-tube and fin-type condensers regularly, and change the water and filter elements frequently to ensure the water quality is clean.
- The ice water pipe of the chiller must be insulated, because the pipe insulation can not only prevent the serious loss of cooling capacity, but also prevent the condensation water formed on the outer wall of the pipe.
- Use antifreeze as coolant, because antifreeze is generally composed of alcohols and water, and requires high boiling point and flash point, high specific heat and conductivity, low low temperature viscosity, not easy to foam, and does not corrode metal parts and rubber hoses Wait. When selecting or preparing antifreeze, its freezing point should be 5°C lower than the lower temperature of the operating environment.
