What is a Water Chiller?

We often say that the vapor compression refrigeration system can complete the refrigeration cycle process as long as there are compressors, condensers, evaporators, throttling mechanisms and other equipment. In fact, compressors, evaporators, condensers, and throttling structures are just the basic equipment in the chiller refrigeration system. According to the actual needs of the chiller, in addition to the four basic equipment, some auxiliary equipment may be added, or corresponding control and adjustment components, etc.

Commonly used auxiliary equipment includes: oil separator, liquid reservoir, gas-liquid separator, oil collector, air separator, intercooler, valve parts, pump for conveying liquid, liquid level gauge, pressure gauge, thermometer, etc. , and in order to realize automatic control and automatic adjustment during operation, automatic control of instruments and meters, etc., the organic combination of these equipment, instruments and meters constitutes a complete practical refrigeration system for various chillers.

Refrigeration process of chiller: The refrigerant absorbs the heat of the object to be cooled in the evaporator of the chiller, vaporizes into vapor, and then extracts and compresses the vapor by the compressor. (such as water, air) exothermic and condensed into high-pressure liquid, which is depressurized by the throttling mechanism and then enters the evaporator, vaporized again, and absorbs the heat of the cooled object, and the cycle is repeated.

In the chiller refrigeration system, the refrigeration compressor that plays the role of the heart is very important, but various auxiliary equipment also greatly affects the efficiency and safety of the refrigeration system. Refrigeration equipment can be divided into two categories according to their roles in the system. One is the equipment necessary to complete the refrigeration cycle of the chiller, such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, and throttling mechanisms, and the other is auxiliary. Equipment (as described above), refrigerant purification and safety equipment, refrigerant water and cooling water system equipment, conveying equipment, etc. Their common goal is to improve the working conditions of the chiller and improve the economy and safety and reliability of the refrigeration system.
